We are constantly sending our prayers out to the area in which our church is located within our four walls, and now, we would like to go a step further in sending our petitions up via world wide web.

South Los Angeles remains known for its notorious gangs. The tension between black and Latino gangs has led to increased racially-motivated gang violence since the early 1990s. The percentage of African American residents in South Los Angeles is about half of what it was in 1990, as Latin American (e.g. Mexican, Guatemalan, Honduran, Salvadoran, etc.) immigrants became the majority, as in many of the older sections of Los Angeles. African Americans still form the largest ethnic group in the southwestern portion of South Los Angeles. Violent crime in this region, although still high, has been decreasing since 1992. In recent years, there has been an influx of white and Asian families moving in some communities of South Los Angeles due to the process of gentrification and revitalization, particularly around the West Adams and Jefferson Park districts.
